Accreditation
Our BBA (Hons) Accounting Stream enables
students to obtain advanced standing or exemptions with the following
professional accounting associations.
HKICPA
Incorporated on 1 January 1973, the Hong
Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants (HKICPA) is the only
statutory licensing body of accountants in Hong Kong responsible for
regulation of the accountancy profession. Our Accounting Stream is
accredited by HKICPA as an approved accountancy degree programme under
HKICPAˇ¦s Qualification Programme (QP)*. The QP of the HKICPA is a
comprehensive training programme that provides the knowledge and skills
necessary to become a Certified Public Accountant (CPA). You are

*Note: Students are reminded that ACT300 Company Law and
ACT354 Advanced Accounting should be completed
before they can be permitted to register as a student of the QP.
ACCA
ACCA is an international accountancy body based in the United Kingdom.
Its aim is to be a global leader in the profession by offering the
qualification to people who seek a rewarding career in accountancy,
finance and management. Certain subjects within our Accounting Stream
are entitled to corresponding exemptions from respective ACCA

CPA Australia
With a
membership base of more than 129,000 professionals in over 110 countries
around the globe, CPA Australia is one of the largest, most recognised
and respected
accounting bodies in the world. It's vision is to be the global
professional accountancy designation for strategic business leaders.
Students
who completed the programme are eligible for CPA Australia's Associate membership and they can commence the Professional Level of the organisation's CPA Program.
Comprising education and practical work experience requirements, the
rigour of CPA Program is designed to equip candidates with all of the
technical, business, personal effectiveness and leadership skills ˇV plus
the ability to think creatively that one needs to be a CPA (Aust.). You

ICMA
The
Institute of Certified Management Accountants (ICMA, also known as CMA
Australia) was officially incorporated in 1996 in Australia. Its
objectives are to provide a professional organization for management
accountants, and to encourage, disseminate and promote the
specialization across all organizations. Management accounting involves
decision oriented professional knowledge, which aims to aid managerial
decision making based on definite data generated from financial
statements. Thus, management accounting is applicable to all business
areas, including: design and implementation of strategic, marketing,
value analysis, and other management models.
Our
accounting stream programme is accredited by the ICMA. Graduates are
exempted from the first 16 units of the ICMA professional examination.
They may apply for the Graduate Management Accountant (GMA) designation
upon graduation.
