  • MAcc 2023-24 students participated in Career Planning Workshop on 28 Sept 2023.

  • The Master of Accountancy (MAcc), Master of Science in Finance (MFin), and Master of Science in Risk and Insurance Management (RIM) Programme jointly organized a six-day Singapore Study Tour 2022/23 during 4 – 9 June 2023. A group of 29 students joined the Tour and attended the Global Summer Immersion at the Singapore Management University (SMU). Through participation in the in-class discussions and group presentations, students learned about Digital Transformation in Accounting and Finance and the application of Business Model Canvas. Each student was awarded a certificate by the SMU upon completion of the Global Summer Immersion.

  • Besides the guest lectures conducted by the professors of the School of Accountancy of SMU, representatives of the Singapore Exchange (SGX) and the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), students were provided with the opportunity to visit a world-renowned investment bank, Barclays, and one of the big four accounting firms, Ernst & Young (EY), to get an in-depth understanding of the fields and the practical aspects of the practitioners’ role.

  • In addition to the Global Summer Immersion, students attended a Leadership Training Programme at the Halogen Foundation Singapore to advance their leadership skills and enhance their self-awareness through interactive activities.

  • Last but not least, students also visited various attractions in Singapore to understand its history and unique culture and enjoy the local cuisine and memorable moments with their buddies. The experience of joining the Tour not only widened students’ horizons but also benefited their personal and career development in future

  • The MAcc 2021-22 students visited CR Capital Management (the company) on 26 May 2022. It was our honor to have Mr. Dennis Choi, Managing Director of CR & CNIC Investment Ltd to share the vision, challenges and future planning of the company. Also, we had Ms. Elizabeth Yang, Chairman of Pro Collaborations to share her career and life planning to students. After the talk, the students had a chance to visit internal departments of the company, it allowed students to experience the employees’ daily working life. The students gained insights about career planning and learnt a lot about how to prepare for their fresh start of career lives from the activity.

  • The MAcc 2019-20 students visited the Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC) on 13 January 2020. They attended a seminar titled "Ethics Legacy - Roles of Senior Management in Corporate Governance" and took a guided tour of its exhibition hall. The seminar mainly focuses on the role of senior management, business ethics, 3A Models of fraud detection, and the various support provided by the ICAC to the community and society. The exhibition hall showcases some of the milestone corruption cases, which testified ICAC's successful anti-corruption strategies. The students learned a lot about how ICAC develops to meet the evolving needs of Hong Kong society from this activity.

  • A group of MAcc 2019-20 students and alumni joined a 5-day-4-night Singapore Study Tour in December 2019. During the tour, they visited a big 4 CPA firm, a global logistics company, an entrepreneurial enterprise focusing on the last-mile solution, National Museum of Singapore,  and a few other cultural sites. Attending a research seminar about audit quality by Prof. Chen Chih-Ying at the beautiful campus of Singapore Management University, the students gained insights on the most recent developments in this research area.  The study tour concluded with a leadership training course by the CEO of Halogen Foundation, which opened up the students' minds and propelled them to cultivate their leadership potential consciously. What a fruitful trip!
