Applicants must have fulfilled the following General Entrance Requirements and the Programme Entrance Requirements stipulated for individual study programmes.

For applicants who have not attempted the AS level examination in Chinese Language and Culture, the University will accept a Grade D or above at HKCEE in a language other than Chinese or English as an alternative to the requirement in Chinese language, provided that they have obtained a Grade E or above in an AS level subject other than Use of English and in addition to those in (a) above. |

Passes in AL and AS subjects can be obtained at one or more sittings. |

Mature students with good language ability are encouraged to apply for the Chinese and Translation programmes. Mature students with good language ability and some experience in the cultural and media sectors are encouraged to apply for the Cultural Studies programme. |

Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Chinese
Applicants should have obtained a Grade E or above in AL Chinese Literature or Chinese History or a Grade D or above in AS Chinese Language and Culture. |

Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Contemporary English Studies
Applicants should have obtained a Grade D or above in AS Use of English. Preference will be given to applicants who have obtained a Grade E or above in AL/AS Literature in English.

Applicants should have obtained a Grade D or above in AS Use of English and Chinese Language and Culture. Preference will be given to applicants who have obtained a Grade E or above in subjects such as History, Literature or Liberal Studies. |

Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in History
Applicants should have obtained a Grade D or above in AS Use of English and Chinese Language and Culture. Preference will be given to applicants who have obtained a Grade E or above in AL/AS History or Chinese History. |
