Hybrid Admission Model for Faculty of Arts from 2016 Intake
To offer greater flexibility for students, Faculty of Arts will implement a hybrid admission model starting from the 2016 intake. Programme-based admission will be adopted in parallel with the current broad-based admission. A total of 8 choices of programmes will be offered for selection, as follows:
Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Chinese
Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Contemporary English Studies
|3.||Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Cultural Studies|
|4.||Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in History|
|5.||Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Philosophy|
|6.||Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Translation|
|7.||Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Visual Studies|
Bachelor of Arts (Hons) - All students admitted via broad-based admission will be allowed to experience different Arts disciplines in Year 1 before deciding on the most suitable major programme. Students will select a major by the end of their first year of study. Apart from the above seven majors, two new major programmes namely "Interdisciplinary Major in Chinese Literature, History and Philosophy" and "Student-designed Major" will also be available for selection starting from the 2016 intake. The main criteria in allocation will be a student’s preference, his or her overall academic performance and suitability for the Major.

A Distinct Bachelor of Business Administration (Hons) - Risk and Insurance Management Programme from 2016 Intake
With a view to focusing on the needs of the banking and insurance industry and training professionals for the industry, a distinct Bachelor of Business Administration (Hons) - Risk and Insurance Management will be offered from the 2016 intake and students will be admitted directly into this programme.
