The Centre for Humanities Research (CHR) was formerly called
The Centre for Literature and Translation. Over the years the Centre has been
actively engaged in conducting research on Chinese literature and the history
of Chinese new music. Since the setting up of CHR, the Centre has extended
its researches to culture, cinema and literature. The Centre has also collaborated
with the Library at Lingnan University to collect the materials on Hong Kong
literature and culture, which would be valuable sources for both scholars
and students. In addition, the Centre supports interdisciplinary seminars,
international conferences, poetry reading workshops and forums.
The Centre will continue to promote academic researches and exchanges, and to collaborate with departments in the humanities, as well as social sciences, in a variety of interdisciplinary projects.
