Email and Accounts

 

New Account Creation

All newly-enrolled STUDENTS will be notified of their user accounts at the time of enrolment. The user accounts will be valid for use during the period of the studies in Lingnan. Similarly, all STAFF members will be notified of their user accounts on the first day of their duties. They can use their accounts during the period they serve Lingnan.


Username and Password

This account consists of a single pair of username and password. Users can use this pair of username and password to access our various IT services, such as Intranet Portal, Webmail, Samba (network storage), WebCT, wireless network, VPN, Library systems, etc.

Note: For security reasons, please change your password immediately once you got your accounts/passwords. Please refer to the "Change Password" web page for details.

Note: Although most of our services can be used with this single pair of username and password, there are a few services, e.g., eFax, IP Phone, which use different pairs of usernames and passwords.


Lingnan Email Address

Each member of Lingnan University is given a Lingnan email address. The format of the email address is username@ln.edu.hk. You can use either email client (e.g., Mozilla Thunderbird) or Lingnan Webmail to send/receive emails.
