Appointment of Dr Li Siu-leung to
CODF Executive Committee

August 2010 - Dr Li Siu-Leung of the Department of Cultural Studies and leader of KFCRD special project in Intangible Cultural Heritage, has been appointed by the Advisory Committee of the Cantonese Opera Development Fund (CODF) as member of the CODF Executive Committee for a 2-year term. Dr Li Siu-leung has been very active in the studies and research on Chinese opera and is the author of Cross-Dressing in Chinese Opera (HKU Press, 2003/2006). In addition to his scholarly endeavours, Dr Li is also a seasoned musician. Trained in flute performance in his early years, Dr Li has played in the Hong Kong Symphony Orchestra and participated in the recording of the album The Yellow River Cantata (Philips416621-1). As member of the CODF Exectuive Committee, Dr Li will advise CODF on matters related to the administration and management of CODF in the assessment of project applications, monitoring and evaluation of the progress and effectiveness of the projects funded by CODF.
