“1000 Women and a Dream”wins

the “ Women building peace ” IAWRT Award

“1000 Women and a Dream”, a documentary film on the global project “1000 Women for the Nobel Peace Prize 2005”, wins a biennial award from the International Association of Women in Radio and TV (IAWRT) .

It shares the Honorable Mention in Television with two other film directors from Lebanon and South Africa. Gabriella Neuhaus, a woman film director from Switzerland , made this film “1000 Women an d a Dream” to document the process of this global project to nominate 1000 women collectively for the Nobel Peace Prize 2005.

The Kwan Fong Cultural Research and Development Programme (KFCRD) of Lingnan University hosts the East Asia secretariat of this project. 117 women were nominated from the China and Mongolia region to go on the list of 1000. “Making Possible the Impossible” and “Let the World See”, two documentary films on the process of the project in the China region, as well as on peacewomen in Hong Kong and mainland China, have been produced by KFCRD.
