李小良﹐香港出生﹐香港大學文學士及哲學碩士﹐美國麻州大學安城分校比較文學博士﹐布朗大學喬科夫斯基博士後研究﹐曾任教於科技大學人文學部﹐現任嶺南大學文化研究系副教授兼系主任。研究興趣包括性別政治與戲曲; 後殖民批評、香港普及文化與動作電影。出版有英文專著<<中國戲曲的性別易服>> (Cross-dressing in Chinese Opera) (香港大學出版社﹐2003/2006),與Meaghan Morris、陳清橋合編英文論文集<<香港接合: 動作電影中的跨國想像>> (Hong Kong Connections: Transnational Imagination in Action Cinema) (香港大學出版社,2005),與王宏志、陳清橋合著《否想香港》(臺北麥田,1997)。其它發表的中、英論文包括功夫片、歌舞電影、戲曲改編、武旦戲、香港流行小說、中西比較文學等課題。 李小良早年學習西洋長笛,曾參與香港交響樂團演出和錄音(<<黃河大合唱>> Philips416621-1) ﹐近年收集十九世紀晚期的法國長笛。在此後現代晚鐘之際﹐李小良才嘗試數碼科技的電子管樂﹐頗為時空倒置。 Siu Leung Li is an associate professor and Head of Department in Cultural Studies at Lingnan University. Born in Hong Kong, Li received his BA and MPhil from the University of Hong Kong, PhD in comparative literature from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. He was Joukowsky postdoctoral fellow at Brown University. He taught in the Division of Humanities at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology before joining Lingnan University. He has published on gender and Chinese opera, Hong Kong popular culture and film, and comparative literary studies. His academic publications include Cross-Dressing in Chinese Opera (HKU Press, 2003/2006), Hong Kong Connections: Transnational Imagination in Action Cinema (co-edited with Meaghan Morris and Stephen Chan Ching-kiu (HKU Press, 2005), Fouxiang Xianggang: lishi, wenhua, weilai" [Hong Kong un-imagined: history, culture, future] (co-authored with Wong Wang-chi and Chan Ching-kiu) (Taipei: Rye Field, 1997). Trained in flute performance in his early years, Li has played occasionally in the Hong Kong Symphony Orchestra and participated in the album The Yellow River Cantata (Philips416621-1). Recently (and belatedly) he has picked up the digital wind-midi controller, an exemplary product of our techno age of virtuality. Li also collects late nineteenth century French flutes and other vintage flutes as a hobby.
