Lingnan University welcomes new Taught Postgraduate Students with a series of orientation and extended induction programmes


With the approach of the new academic year, the Division of Graduate Studies organised the Orientation for Taught Postgraduate Students on 27 August to welcome new members of the Lingnan family. In his welcoming remarks, President Leonard K Cheng welcomed the new students on behalf of the University, and wished them a joyful and fruitful new academic year. Prof Joshua Mok Ka-ho, Vice-President and Director of Division Graduate Studies then shared the achievements of Lingnan and the recent academic events organised by DGS, as well as a series of activities and courses aimed at enhancing learning experience of postgraduate students at Lingnan. A series of talks that followed provided students with information about the University and Hong Kong as well as issues related to their academic and campus life.

 

Apart from this orientation, an array of extended induction programmes for new postgraduate students, including workshops on academic writing and effective presentations, survival Cantonese lesson, and lectures on job hunting and working in Hong Kong will be organised from the beginning of this semester. In addition, the postgraduate studies seminar series and Academic Writing and Social Statistics Workshops are open for the new postgraduate students
