WEI Xiangdong is a Professor in the Department of Economics, Lingnan University. He is also a part-time Chair Professor in Industrial and Labour Economics in the School of Business, University of Birmingham. He got his B.Sc. in Mathematics from Zhongshan University, China, and his M.Soc.Sc. in Money, Banking and Finance and Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Birmingham, UK. His research interests lie in personnel economics, economics of workplace safety, education policies and Chinese economy. He mainly teaches Labour Market and Education Policy (ECO315) and the Hong Kong Economy (ECO209 ). He had worked as a consultant for the UK Department of Employment, the Education and Manpower Bureau in Hong Kong and Hong Kong Council of Social Services.
