Networked Disk Storage (Samba)
Samba provides file and printer sharing for staff and students. After Samba login, users can save files on our Networked Disk Storage (Samba) server. There is quota limitation to ensure a fair use of computing storage and not overwhelming the computing resources.
Samba Login, Network Drives and Quota
When the Windows is booted up, the login screen pops up as shown:
Enter your username and password and click on, your workstation will get 4 network drives:
| H: | Your Network Home Folder (200MB quota space for each user) |
| I: | Network Applications, e.g., SPSS, SAS |
| O: | You can store your temporary files here (purge daily) |
| S: | Common share drive for departments |
In case of Samba services temporary unavailable, on staff PC, please click onto login your workstation without the network drives. The other services like the Internet and Email may still be available.
Important Note: Please note that this button is available on staff PCs only.
