Campus Telephone (IP Phone)
The University has been using a traditional Fujitsu F9600 telephony system since it was moved to the Tuen Mun Campus in 1995. As the system is facing ageing problems, the University decided to upgrade the system in 2007 to provide more stable and sophisticated voice services. The new system is a voice over IP system which provides value added features such as online voicemail and extension mobility for enhancing the University operations and staff productivity. Moreover, the telephony service will also be extended to the student hostels. The system upgrade is a joint effort of the Office of the Comptroller and the Information Technology Service Centre, who are responsible for the legacy and the new system respectively. The telephony service will be provided by ITSC after the new system is rolled out.
