How to download WLAN
VPN client
1.
After you have registered successfully for
WLAN service. Now you can click on the hyperlink “Download VPN Client Now!”
to download the software for securing your wireless connection. (Diagram B1)

“File Download” Box appears (Diagram
B2), Press “Save” for downloading the VPN client
software to your local PC.

Choose a temporary location to store the VPN
client software i.e. eac464d.exe. (Diagram B3). Press “Save”
button to continue.

After downloading the software, press “Open”

How to Install the VPN
Client from Window XP
1.
After open the file “eac465d.exe”, the
installation of Nortel Contivity VPN Client starts. The “Contivity VPN Client
V4.65” Box appears. Please press “Next>” button to continue. (Diagram

Please read thru the policy in “License
Agreement” Box; if you accept the terms of using this software, please
press “Yes” button to continue. (Diagram C2)

In “Choose Destination Location” window,
please choose the location of installation the VPN software. If you have no preference
on the location of installation of the VPN software. Please use the default
path of installation. i.e. “C:\program files\Nortel Network”. Press
“Yes”
button to continue for the installation process. (Diagram C3)

“Select Program Folder” window
appears. The installation program will automatically create the folder “Nortel
Networks” for correcting all programs that will be installed for the Nortel
Contivity VPN Client. Please press “Next>” button to continue. (Diagram C4)

Please choose the default setting of “Install
and run as an Application (default)” for running the application and
press “Next>” button to continue as in Diagram C5.

Please Press “Next>” button in “Start
Copying Files Window” to start extracting and copy the files for
installation of the VPN client. (Diagram C6). After the installation
program completed. You will see the “Nortel Network Window” appears as in
Diagram
C7.

In addition, “Readme.txt Window”
appears as in Diagram C8 after all files have
been copied to the local hard drive. Please press “Next>” to continue. The
“InstallShield Wizard Complete Window” appears.
Please close all the programs and choose “Yes, I want to restart my computer now”
for finishing the installation process as in Diagram C9.

How to customize the
configuration to use Lingnan WLAN VPN service
1.
If you follow the instruction described above.
You will see a new group “Nortel Network” in the start manual.
Please choose “Contivity VPN client” for starting the customization (first
time to use) or running the application (after well-configured). (Diagram
D1)

After choosing “Contivity VPN Client”
from the start manual, The “Contivity VPN Client” Box appears.
If you are first time to run the program, you will see a small window asking “Would
you like to use the Connection Wizard to create your first Connection?”
Please press “Yes” button to continue the connection wizard as shown in Diagram D2.

“New Connection Profile” window will
appears, please input a name to identify the WLAN VPN Service. We suggest using
“LU
WLAN” for the profile name. Description is an optional item for filled
in. Please press “Next>” button to continue. (Diagram D3)

In the “Authentication Type” window, please
choose “Username and Password” for the authentication method. Since our
VPN for Wireless LAN service is using the E

In the “User Identification” window, please

In the “Group Authentication Information”
window, you need to choose “Yes, I have a Group ID and Group Password”.
For our VPN system, we must specify a common group id and group password for
all Lingnan WLAN VPN users. Please enter “lingnan”
in “Enter
your Group ID:” field and “lingnanwlan”
in “Enter
Your Group Password:” field. Afterwards, please press the “Next>”
button to continue the customization process. (Diagram D6)

In the “Destination” window, please input
the name of the VPN gateway which is “wvpn.ln.edu.hk” as in Diagram D7. Please
press “Next>” button to continue.

Since the VPN of WLAN service don’t need the
dial-up action. So please choose “No, I do not want to dial first” in
the “Dial-up
Connection” window. Then press “Next>” button to continue as in Diagram D8.

In the “Connection Profile Complete” Window (Diagram D9), please
press “Finish” button to complete
the installation process.
