LU and Tainan National University of the Arts forge an academic partnership

Lingnan University signed an Agreement of Teaching and Student Exchange with Tainan National University of the Arts, Taiwan, on 20 January to facilitate academic exchange and collaboration between both universities over the next three academic years.

Photo: LU President Prof Leonard K Cheng co-signed the agreement with Prof Ken Feng-ying and Prof Tzeng Shin-chieh of Tainan National University of the Arts to establish partnership between the two leadling liberal arts universities in the region. 

 

The Graduate Institute of Conservation of Cultural Relics and Museology, Tainan National University of the Arts, will host a credit-bearing summer course for the Master of Arts in Curating and Art History programme to be launched by LU’s Department of Visual Studies in 2020/21. Through short-term studies and academic visits to Taiwan, students can join field trips to local museums, galleries, cultural and creative industries parks, and other heritage sites.

 

Visiting scholars from Tainan National University of the Arts will teach one or two courses for the MA programme, and offer academic advice and guidance on art collection management, exhibition design and other topics related to art history and museology studies. Visiting scholars will also hold seminars and oversee research projects, including training on the handling of valuables and setting up exhibitions for the Leung Fong Oi Wan Art Gallery and Fong Sum Wood Library on the LU campus.
