Lingnan University’s Karate Team performed well at the University Sports Federation of Hong Kong (USFHK) Karatedo Competition 2016-2017 held on 5 March at The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. In the Female Kumite (61kg or above) event, Year 4 social sciences student Wong Cheuk-lee grasped the championship. This is also the fourth consecutive year she won this title since 2014.
In the Female Team Kata event, Year 3 business student Lau Choi-yan, Year 3 arts student Zhang Hanlin and Year 2 arts student Ma Ching-yee scored the 2nd Runner-up with their consistent and smooth movements. The Women’s Karate Team also won the Overall 3rd Runner-up in the Women’s Division.
