This course examines the importance of logistics and supply chain management as a competitive strategy for the modern organisations. It highlights the strategic and practical needs to coordinate and integrate the traditional business functions within a particular company and across businesses within the supply chain, for the purposes of improving the long-term performance of the individual companies and the supply chain as a whole. The course also presents systems thinking on managing the material and information flow from the supplier to the ultimate customer.
