Lingnan University ("Lingnan" or "the University") received HK$1.2 million donations from Ms. Bess TSIN Man-kuen, Director of Karmax Ltd. In recognition of Ms. Tsin's generous support, the University named its Language Laboratory in memory of Ms. Tsin's father Mr. TSIN Shui-sang, who was a late alumnus of the Guangzhou Lingnan University. The donations could be matched dollar-to-dollar under the Matching Grant Scheme by the University Grants Committee, which made the donations received by the University totaled at HK$2.4 million.

Speaking at the Naming Ceremony of "Tsin Shui Sang Language Laboratory" (NAB 202) held today, President Edward CHEN expressed his deep appreciation to Ms Tsin for his generous and continuous support to the University. "We are indebted to the enthusiastic support of our alumni to the University over the past years. Ms Tsin's late father, Mr Tsin Shui-sang was a graduate in the 40's, a generation which has never stopped supporting us since their graduation. We are grateful to the donations of the Tsin's family, who sets a good model in demonstrating how alumni and their families could help bring out the Lingnan spirit of giving and sharing for the development of the University."
