Lingnan University welcomes 5,600 guests on Information Day 2014
Lingnan University organised the Information Day 2014 today (1 November 2014) to introduce to students, teachers, parents and the general public its liberal art education, as well as the curricula design and admission requirements of its undergraduate programmes in 2015/16. The event attracted a total of over 5,600 guests.
The Information Day featured a wide variety of events including programme introduction talks and exhibitions organised by the University’s three faculties, namely Faculty of Arts, Faculty of Business and Faculty of Social Sciences, to showcase their programmes’ design, content and unique features in teaching and learning. Information related to admission arrangements was provided to participants who were mostly secondary school students, and questions related to admission were addressed on the spot.
Many academic departments, teaching units and student organisations also staged a series of exciting activities including seminars, booth activities, book fair and arts exhibitions, so that the public could know more about Lingnan’s multi-cultural, diversified learning environment and interesting campus life.
Meanwhile, today the University also hosted the 18th Jackie Chan Challenge Cup Inter-collegiate Invitation Tournament, an annual sports gala in which athletes from local tertiary institutions flexed their muscles for honour and friendship. Prizes of the tournament were presented by guests including Mr Simon Ip Shing-hing, Deputy Chairman of the Council, Dr Frank Law Sai-kit, Chairman of the Court, Prof Leonard K Cheng, President and Mr Edmund Leung Kwong-ho, Honorary Fellow.
