Professional experience sharing with delegation from Christ University of India

19 Oct 2016

University governance is becoming increasingly important for university leaders when higher education is experiencing rapid social, economic, political and cultural changes across the globe. A delegation of academic leaders from Christ University of India visited Lingnan University on 19 October, attending a lecture and professional experience sharing with Vice President Prof Joshua Mok Ka-ho on effective university governance in Hong Kong.

Lingnan is one of the core international partners of the Centre for Global Higher Education based in University College London Institute of Education, the world’s largest inter-university research centre for higher education. During the sharing session, Prof Mok made a presentation entitled “The Quest for Effective University Governance: The Hong Kong Experience” for the delegates. “Engaging academic leaders across different parts of the world in professional experience sharing is central to the mission of the University because we truly believe in promotion of better understanding not only within the region but across different parts of the globe. We would welcome more collaboration with our colleagues from India in higher education management and governance, as it is core to the research and knowledge transfer mission of the University”, Prof Mok remarked.

Dr Anil Pinto, Registrar from Christ University thanked the host and said that the delegation enjoyed very much the lecture and exchange with faculty members of Lingnan University, especially both universities share the same educational philosophy for promoting whole-person development for students. The delegation also visited the Office of Service-Learning, exchanging experiences in mounting service-learning programmes for enhancing student learning experiences.
