Curriculum

At the undergraduate level, the University offers programmes leading to bachelor’s degrees in Arts, Business Administration, and Social Sciences. We introduce an integrated and multidisciplinary approach in many programmes, and adopt a variety of teaching modes: sectional approach in addition to the conventional lecture-tutorial format, immersion language teaching, field studies, integrated learning programmes, and service learning programmes etc.

With reference to the immigration laws of the HKSAR, all students coming to Lingnan as full-time exchange students must enroll for at least 12 credits per term (i.e. 4 courses, 3 credits each). For course details, please visit the Home page of Registry.

Language of Instruction


English and Chinese are the two official languages in Hong Kong. Sharing the belief in the importance of language proficiency in both Chinese and English, Lingnan is committed to fostering both languages in our curriculum. Generally about two-thirds of all classes taught at Lingnan University are available in English.

 

Credit Transfer


Lingnan University has a credit-based system similar to those of North American institutions. Courses completed by students at Lingnan are transferable, however, it is the sole responsibility of the home institution to determine how many credit units the student may actually receive from courses taken at Lingnan.
