Eligibility

Academic Requirement

Application is open for all non final year students registered in a 3-year or 4-year degree programme (except foundation year). Exchange opportunity is now extended for eligible undergraduate students under non-UGC funded programmes as well.

If you are studying 3-year programme, you can apply in your 1st year for exchange in 1st or 2nd term of your 2nd year, or apply in your 2nd year for exchange in 1st term of 3rd year.

If you are studying a 4-year programme, you can apply in your 2nd year for exchange in 1st or 2nd term of your 3rd year, or apply in 3rd year for exchange in 1st term of 4th year. (Mainland Exchange Programme for 2nd term 2010-11 is also available for application.)

Your Cumulative GPA as of Term 2 2009/10 and before departure should be at least 2.50.

For Accounting students (3-year curriculum), it is best to participate in the exchange programmes in Year 2 because the big 4 CPA firms conduct their interviews in the 1st (Fall) Term for final year students.

No final term, final year students are permitted to study outside Hong Kong.

 

Other Requirements

1. English Language Requirement for Participants to International Partner Institutions

Students who wish to go for exchange to an International partner institution must meet one of the following requirements before they are eligible for student exchange:

• a minimum TOEFL score of 213 (computer-based test), 550 (paper-based test) or 79 (internet-based test) <TOEFL website: http://ets.org/toefl>; or
• a minimum IELTS (Academic Module) score of Band 6.0 <IELTS website: http://www.ielts.org>

2. Chinese Language Requirement for Participantsto Mainland Partner Institutions

Students who wish to go for exchange to Mainland partner institution must have a good command of Chinese and Putonghua at the level of LCC 102 Practical Chinese II or equivalent.
