OSL Faculty Workshop

Thank you to all who attended Tuesday's Faculty Workshop entitled “Service-Learning and Building an Academic Career: How community engagement can advance your teaching and scholarship," led by Dr. Jackie Schmidt-Posner from the Haas Center for Public Service at Stanford University. We hope that you found the event as informative as we did.

For the reference of participants as well as those who were unable to attend, we have uploaded the resources used in the workshop (PowerPoint presentation, two handouts, and information about the OSL Conference and Research Grants). There is a video of the entire 2-hour workshop available as well; please contact us if you are interested in having a copy. Student Ambassador Scheme 2009-2010

The Office of Service-Learning is pleased to announce the Student Ambassador Scheme, a new hostel-based outreach program! We are looking for enthusiastic, outgoing, and responsible students who can help increase the channel of connection between OSL and Lingnan students, promote OSL programs and create a culture of Service-Learning in the hostels. Student Ambassadors will gain benefits such as leadership, communication and marketing experience, first priority in OSL jobs and programs, and a certificate upon successful completion of the program.

Wofoo Leadership Network Series
Service-Learning Stars of Lingnan

“Wofoo Leadership Network Series – Service-Learning Stars of Lingnan” is year-long leadership training program co-organized by Office of Service-learning and Wofoo Social Enterprise. It aims at enlightening a group of youth into responsible citizens by providing a series of training workshops and community service projects for participants. Asides, outstanding leaders will be given with the chance to join a program called “Service-learning in U.S” organized by Stanford University and internship opportunities at Wofoo Social Enterprise.

2009 ACUCA Conference Trip to Taiwan

The Association of Christian Universities and Colleges in Asia (ACUCA) is holding its 2009 Management Conference in Taiwan in late October. This year’s theme is “Service Learning and International Cooperation”. OSL is now offering full sponsorship for participation in the conference to all academic staff members and students.
