Background

The Office of Service-Learning at Lingnan University in Hong Kong and Deloitte China are jointly running a village adoption project in Yunnan, Mainland China for three years from 2007 to 2010. This project aims to pilot and develop a model for the sustainable development of a rural community in China through academic research, corporate social responsibility and voluntary services. In addition to the objective of supporting rural sustainable development, it aims to promote to all the participants the concept and the spirit of serving to learn and learning to serve.
