This is a valuable experience for me. Though the villagers live under a poor environment with scare resources, they are happy with what they have. This makes me realizes that I should treasure what I have and don’t take it for granted all the time.

This visit has changed my life. I treasure all the things that I have. I love my family and friends more after this trip. I believe this three-year village project is a very successful and meaningful project in Lingnan University - I am proud of Lingnanian!

The villagers are innocent and simple. I think that I would have to spend a lot of time to make a friend in the village, however, the villagers invited me to have lunch even I just chatted with them merely 30 minutes. Children in the village treated me as their close friends in only two days. They are the happiest one, even though many people may think that they are the unluckiest one.

Experiencing the school life of the high school students lets me think about my future plan. They face a lot of difficulties and pressure just for one goal – university.

Experiencing to work with Deloitte staff and all of schoolmates lets me learn communication, toleration, appreciation, respect and team spirit. Although we have come from the different places, we bond together closely, working together as a team towards the same goal.

One of the most special and impressing things in this trip was a shot on the 2nd day of the visit, from the face of one of the teenagers in the village. She used to be shy and a bit reserve because her family was not able to support her to pursue studies in high school despite of her good academic performance. Whenever she talked about her future, her tears ran out of her eyes. However, in this visit, I can see her smiles and she is more proactive. The assistance we provided enables her to continue her studies. The difference was magical. The joy, the peace and the hope shown on her face truly made me believe that we can have impact on others!

One can never know his / her power and impact on others if he / she does not ever try.
