Lingnan University’s Rowing Team reaped the1st runner-up in the annual 3.5 kilometer Shing Mun River rowing competition － Open Men division on 18 January 2009. Organised by Hong Kong, China Rowing Association, the contest attracted two other university teams: The Chinese University of Hong Kong and Hong Kong Baptist University and two amateur teams from The Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club and Lion Rock Rowing Club.

The four Lingnan rowers are:
