Lingnan University’s Taekwondo Team took away 10 prizes in the 2008-2009 The University Sports Federation of Hong Kong, China, Taekwondo Competition on 21-22 February 2009. The team won a total of three gold, one silver and six bronze medals, their biggest win since participating the contest in 2000.

 The performance and results of Lingnan’s Taekwondo Team are better than that of the previous years. The overall ranking of the team leaped from 7th in 2007 to 5th in 2009. This is also the first time for the women team to rank 4th in the overall ranking.

A total of 11 tertiary institutions have taken part this year including Chu Hai College, City University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong Baptist University, Hong Kong Shue Yan University, Lingnan University, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, The Hong Kong Institute of Education, The Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology and The University of Hong Kong.
