Orgnaizing field trip to different places has been a common learning practice in the Social Sciences Programme. For instance, instructors of the courses “Taiwan: Politics and Society” and “One Country-Two System: Central Hong Kong SAR Relationships” organized a joint field trip to Taiwan for students to see the presidential elections. Students benefited from the first hand experiences of watching directly on Taiwan elections. Other filed trips have been to relevant organizations and institutions within Hong Kong or in Guangdong province.

Chu Pok:
“The five-day trip has enriched our understanding on current Taiwan government and politics. The field trip has provided students with knowledge no books can provide.”
Cheung Siu Wai:
“I have learnt more about the Taiwan election, Taiwanese views on the various political issues, and the Taiwan political system. This has been an eye-opening experience.”
Wong Siu Chung, Anson
“I was able to fully understand and experience atmosphere of the election through the Taiwan 2008 Presidential Election trip. Nonetheless, I was able to recognize the passion of the local citizens towards the election, as well as the expectation and hopes in political future of the KMT and DPP. And this experience is valuable to me.”
Timothy A. Golden (His experience with Global Institute for Tomorrow's young Leaders Programme)
"The Programme offered by the HK social-venture think tank Global institute for Tomorrow, was an opportunity for me to bridge the social sciences with real-world applications. It is noted for its high-quality leadership training, innovative approach to microfinance, and for the eye-opening opportunity to experience social enterprises in the developing world."
