The Programme had made much progress in providing our students with more internship opportunities. The feedback from the Internship Institutions/Companies highly commented on our students.
Students participated in the Internship Programmes respectively at the Andrew Liao S. C.'s Chambers and Dickson Communication Limited in 2008-2009. In addition, some students were placed in the Summer Internship Program at (PRTA) Neighbourhood Advice-Action Council. The summer camp was a highly specialized program providing social skills and emotion regulation program to autistic children and their families to assist these children to adjust at the school setting. Our students were serving as summer camp counselors working with clinical psychologists and social workers to deliver the program. They have successfully completed their internship with great satisfaction. Students were able to learn and experience children with emotional difficulties.
In addition, The programme participated in the Internship Programme with the Research and Library Services Division of the Legislative Council Secretariat. It aims at providing an opportunity for students to acquire direct exposure to the legislative process and related matter. The work-based educational programme offers students with a chance to personally experience the legislature, and understand better the roles and function of the legislature and its participants.
"The summer internship at the company enabled me to broaden my limited horizon and exposure as well as to transfer what I learned in the university to real-life situation. The experience was more than I could have expected and allowed me to have a thorough understanding of a company's general operations and to develop as a professional member of the public relations group. I thoroughly enjoyed working with such a great team of people. It was a pleasure to watch and learn from my fellow colleagues."
“I worked for the Research and Library Services Division of the Legislative Council Secretariat and participated in the research projects about the special education. The valuable experiences allowed me to develop my research technique. Besides, the internship granted me an opportunity to know more about the procedure of the Legislative Framework and functions of different divisions in the Legislative Council Secretariat.”
“This summer, I was an intern in the Research and Library Services Division of the Legislative Council Secretariat. I was responsible for collecting information of heritage conservation in HK. It was a good chance to know more about the operation of the Legislative Council and to develop my research technique.”
