With regard to staff development and scholarly activities, faculty in the programme are generally associated with at least one of the social sciences research centers (the Asia-Pacific Institute of Ageing Studies, Centre for Asian Pacific Studies, Centre for Public Policy Studies, and Environmental Studies Programme). These four research centers have been very active in organizing workshops, seminars and conferences, and colleagues have been keen participants in these activities. In addition to these in-house scholarly activities, the vast majority of faculty engage in local and international academic activities, including presentation of papers and delivering talks at conferences and seminars.
