Observing Hostel Access Rules and Regulations

ˇ@

In order to maintain a safe living environment of student hostels, students are required to comply with all Hostel Access Rules and Regulations. Non-residents who enter the hostels during the *restricted hours are required to get prior permission from the Warden of that hostel.

With the endorsement of the Student Hostels Management Committee at its meeting held on 9 November 2006, an enhanced hostel access control programme would be implemented on 22 January 2007. The enhanced access system would be implemented during the residential year as follows:

1.      Respective Wardenˇ¦s Office will send a warning e-mail to the student who violates the rules.

2.      The warden can penalize the student by barring him/her from entering the hostel if he/she violates the rules and regulations frequently.

3.      If a student disagrees with the penalty given by the warden, he/she can appeal to the warden/duty tutor. The warden/duty tutor has the discretion to bar or reactivate students from accessing the student hostel, and deducting and adjusting the hostel admission scores.

4.      The penalties will take effect throughout his/her years of study until his/her graduation.
