JIJIS - Joint Institution Job Information System , is an on-line job search system developed by the local eight tertiary institutions. The web-based system includes the following features:
Students can access JIJIS anytime, anywhere as long as there is a computer that is connected to the Internet.
Students can search for full-time, part-time, temporary and summer job vacancies in JIJIS.
The system allows on-line job application.
The system allows you to post your resume on-line.
The Career Education section offers you a forum and chatroom to post questions for job-related and career-related issues.
How to register?
To use JIJIS, you must first register on-line. Here is the URL of the new JIJIS: www.jijis.org.hk
1. Click "Register" in the JIJIS home page to access the Student Registration page.

2. Fill in your Lingnan student ID number and choose "Lingnan University" to submit your registration request. Your account username and password will then be emailed to your Lingnan email account. Please note that your username starts with a letter "L".

3. Once you received your username and password, you can log into JIJIS.

How to search and apply for jobs?
1. To start your job search, you must first log-in to enter the JIJIS main menu. Then click the "Job & Employer" button to reach the screen shown below:

2. Click the "Search/Apply Job" link to go into the search page below:

Input your search criteria, such as mode of employment, job nature, field of study, etc., to limit your search results. The "Lookup" button on the right-hand side, e.g. in the "Job Nature" box, provides a pop-up menu of choices for you to choose from. When you are done with filling in your search criteria, click the "Search" button on the left to begin your search.
3. Your search will then provide a search list as shown below:

4. Click the "Display" link in the first column to view the details of each listed job notices. Follow the application procedures as listed in each job notice. Some employers, however, may accept on-line application. This will be indicated by the appearance of the letter "Y" in the last column - "Apply Online" of the above list. To apply for jobs allowing on-line application, you must prepare an on-line resume.
How to prepare an on-line resume?
1. To apply for a job on-line, you must prepare an on-line resume/ CV allowing employers to do a CV search. To start, go to the JIJIS main menu and click "Resume". Then click the "Edit/Update Online Resume" link to access the screen below:

2. Start completing the form and provide information on how employers may contact you. You must provide your email address, and make sure to either tick the "Enable Record" or "Show to applied employers only" box to make your resume available for screening. If you forget to do so, you will not be able to submit an on-line application.

3. You can update your resume regularly. As a rule, resumes who are more than three months old will be disabled by the JIJIS administrator of the University. However, warning will be given beforehand.
How to create a Job Alert?
1. You can create a "Job Alert" message direct to your email account. Click the "Job & Employer" button on the JIJIS main menu, then click the "Job Alert" button. You will eventually enter the following screen:

2. Choose how regular you would like the Job Alert message to be sent to your email account. You can also set criteria on employment mode, job nature, etc. Click "Submit" to complete your request.
