What is WebCT?

WebCT is Lingnan University's online teaching and learning environment which aims to enhance e-Learning.  The new version of WebCT - Campus Edition 8 (CE8) offers numerous improvements such as the plagiarism software (Turnitin / SafeAssign) for assignment checking, as well as integration with the student e-Portfolio. The new user interface is also much easier and more effective for students to use.

Before You Start

Please note the following...

• WebCT courses will be available 3 weeks before Commencement of Term
• Only "Lecture" will be created in WebCT (See below section 'New Version - CE8')

New Version - CE8

In the previous version of WebCT CE4, all sections (lectures, tutorials) are created, which caused confusion among users as to where to obtain information. In order to resolve this, WebCT CE8 will only assign Lecture by default.

If you would like to have your other sections (tutorials etc.) created in WebCT, please kindly send us a request via WebCT Request Form.

Merge Course System

Merge Course System allows multiple sections to be merged into one single entity. This is useful when you are instructing multiple sections and would like to group together all the materials and enrolled students for easier management.

To request for merge course, please login to University Portal, click on My Courses tab, WebCT Merge Course System.
