The mission of the Faculty  is to enable students to realize their potential and become excellent, well rounded and socially responsible professionals for service in Hong Kong, the Chinese Mainland and beyond. The Faculty also has a vision to be recognized as a leading academic community that is committed to excellence in liberal arts learning and teaching supported by cutting-edge research.

 

Degree Programmes

The Faculty offers degree programmes at undergraduate, research postgraduate, and taught postgraduate levels.

 

With the objective of equipping students with professional knowledge and multiple talents, the BBA (Hons) and BBA-Risk and Insurance Management (Hons) programmes at Lingnan seek a balance in curricular requirements between business core courses, the specialist major, core curriculum, languages, and the free elective component. Many undergraduate business courses contribute to the building of broad-based generic skills through the adoption of team-based in-class or out-of-class assignments, projects, and presentations. Other than classroom learning, the Faculty provides students abundant opportunities on service-learning, internship, and international exchange. The relatively small class size (usually below 35) of our undergraduate courses, which is a hallmark of liberal arts education, encourages the development of close staff-student relationship and facilitates lively in-class discussions.

 

The Faculty offers Business MPhil and PhD programmes, as well as six taught postgraduate programmes, namely Master of Accountancy, MSc in eBusiness and Supply Chain Management, MSc in Finance, MSc in Human Resource Management and Organisational Behaviour, and MSc in Marketing and International Business and Double Master Programme. The curriculum of our taught postgraduate programmes are complemented by a series of professional development activities, internship, overseas study trips, and projects with business partners. These carefully designed specialist master's programmes bring out students maximum professional values and intellectual quality, and prepare them for the challenge of the marketplace in Hong Kong, the Chinese Mainland, and beyond.

 

Professional Recognition

The quality of our business education is well recognized by international professional associations. Lingnan University received accreditation from the Association to Advanced Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB), the longest serving global accrediting body for business schools, and has set up the Lingnan University Chapter of Bega Gamma Sigma (BGS) to recognize business students with outstanding academic achievements.
