Overview

Hong Kong Institute of Business Studies (HKIBS) was established in 1996 at Lingnan University and is the amalgamation of the former Centre for International Business Studies (CIBS) and the Centre for Entrepreneurial Studies (CES).

HKIBS provides full support to the Faculty of Business and the University by funding important research projects, facilitating scholarly exchanges, and collaborating with strategic partners around the world. Our research focuses on the following five areas: (1) Auditing, Taxation and Financial Reporting, (2) Business Data Analytics and Business Intelligence, (3) Entrepreneurship and Organizational Studies, (4) Finance, Risk and Insurance Management, and (5) Marketing, E-commerce, and Supply Chain Management.

Over the years, HKIBS has engaged in a broad range of research programs and maintained close ties with universities, organisations, and firms from Hong Kong, Mainland China, and overseas through academic seminars, public symposiums, training programmes, and other activities. Between 2002 and 2019, HKIBS served as the Secretariat for the Academy of International Business Southeast Asia Regional Chapter and organized international conferences on a regular basis.

We are honoured to announce that this year we are collaborating with the School of Graduate Studies of Lingnan University and the School of Social Sciences of Tsinghua University to launch the Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) in Global Digital Economy and Governance Programme, the first of its kind in Greater China region. Looking ahead, HKIBS will continue to utilize its expertise and extensive network to further research and cooperate with universities and industries in the region and beyond.
