YUNG Sau Man, Ceci (2012/2013 graduate, works at Deloitte )

Be proactive! Chances are everywhere and you need to grab it quickly.

When I knew the application for Accounting Student Enhancement Program was open, I took my initiative to apply for it. After rounds of selection, I was one of the lucky students to enter this program. It offered me so much help and support for my job hunting preparation. There were many workshops for me to know more about accounting industry and interview training sessions. I also joined the HKICPA QP Case Analysis competition and Deloitte Tax Championship. These widened my horizon much and I made more friends in these two activities.

Boys and girls, please plan your schedule well to be ready to take up any challenges ahead of you.

CHAN Suthida Zoe (2012/2013 graduate, works at PricewaterhouseCoopers)

The Department offers its very own resource-rich and comprehensive “Student Enhancement Programme” and welcomes Accounting students to enrol.

I, of course, did not miss out this very golden opportunity and enrolled the SEP where I could receive a series of training and intensive care from the professor coordinators in-charge, in addition to my personal academic advisor. Final Year was a job hunting year. ┬áIn addition to the general career talks, I was glad that the SEP continued to provide me tailor-made guidance and simulation of the Big Four and Second-tier CPA firms’ job hunting processes, in which I could familiarise myself with job interview techniques and boost my confidence.

Wong Ho Yuen, Esmond (2011/2012 graduate, works at PricewaterhouseCoopers)

As an accounting student, I always received opportunities and support. Department of Accountancy offers high quality Student Enhancement Programme (SEP) every year. By having a chance to be a SEP student, I had broadened my horizons and enriched my exposure in the accounting industry. The department offered a series of activities such as interview workshops, summer internships and inter-university competitions to students. Therefore, I equipped myself to be a professional accountant in my early stage of study in Lingnan. This programme has successfully helped me in my job hunting process. Now, I am working for PwC and I am very thankful for the department’s cultivation.

Xu Cheng, Emma (2011/2012 graduate, works at Deloitte)

Being selected as a SEP student won me precious chances to participate in various activities. I had been nominated by the department to take spring internship in Deloitte when I was year 2, through which I learnt how an accounting professional should be. Besides, I had joined in Deloitte Tax Championship, ACCA Charity Fun Day, etc. These experiences enable me to apply theoretical knowledge into practical life and figure out my interested area.
