Bachelor of Business Administration (Honours)

BBA (Hons) Overview

Streams for Senior Year Admission

Training business professionals with liberal arts and global knowledge

The BBA (Hons) is unique in the way it equips future professionals and leaders with a business mindset and practical know-how, while also giving them a solid grounding in liberal arts. This provides the ideal foundation for lifelong learning about the world of business and an appreciation of the humanities.

Bachelor of Business Administration (Hons) (BBA (Hons))

The full-time BBA (Hons) programme offers five streams - Accounting and Corporate Governance, Digital Business, Finance, Human Resource Management and Entrepreneurship and Marketing and Social Media. These disciplines are central to today’s global economy and to the further development of Hong Kong, China and the Asia region.

Students choose to specialise in one of these five areas after completing required courses, which give them a solid understanding of the essentials of business. They can decide which path to take based on their own interests and career plans, making it possible to get the most out of their studies and prepare for what comes next.

The programme also provides ample opportunities for overseas exchanges, community service and internships via the University’s well-established network of academic and business partners in Hong Kong, mainland China and further afield.

Being in the world's top 5%

The different streams of the BBA (Hons) are overseen respectively by the Department of Accountancy, Department of Finance and Insurance, Department of Management, and Department of Marketing and International Business with the support of the Department of Computing and Decision Sciences. Everything is under the overall governance and management of the University’s Faculty of Business.

Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB)

Lingnan University's Faculty of Business has been accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) since 2011 for its outstanding performance in teaching and learning, ongoing development, strategic management and innovations. The AACSB is the longest-established global accreditation body for business schools offering undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral degrees in business and accounting, and is the hallmark of excellence in business education. Less than 5% of the world’s business programmes are AACSB accredited.

BBA (Hons) graduates are recognised by the broader business sector and a number of professional bodies for their quality and standing. For instance, graduates from the Marketing and Social Media stream are eligible for Associate membership of the Hong Kong Institute of Marketing (HKIM) and the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM). Those from the Accounting and Corporate Governance stream are accredited by the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants (HKICPA), Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), CPA Australia and International Capital Market Association (ICMA), allowing them to apply for full membership and to be exempt from certain examination papers for the professional qualification.
