Update on teaching and work arrangements (4 February)

  • Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19)
  • Teaching and Learning Arrangements

4 Feb 2022

Since the pandemic situation is becoming increasingly severe, the University has decided to further adjust its teaching and work arrangements from Monday 7 February to Saturday 26 February 2022.

Teaching arrangements

All classes will be conducted in hybrid mode. Subject teachers should conduct their classes at designated teaching venues on campus and time-slots according to the timetable, and broadcast the lessons online simultaneously. Students may choose to attend classes in either face-to-face or online mode.

For large size classes with a high percentage of students opting for face-to-face mode, subject teachers may split students into smaller groups to attend classes by rotation.

Work arrangements

Under the condition of providing essential services that are required for hybrid teaching and learning, Heads of departments/offices/units may exercise discretion in arranging some colleagues to work from home by rotation, while maintaining at least half of their staff to work at the office daily. They may also apply other special work arrangements, including staggered lunch hours and flexible working hours according to job duties of their units as appropriate.
