But little is known about the impact of providing grandparental childcare on their labour force participation and preparation for retirement.

This project aims to explore labour market participation and preparation for retirement of grandparents in Hong Kong. It is expected that the rich and depth of the information with careful analysis in this study will contribute to fill in the knowledge gap and provide useful reference for the helping professionals and policy makers to craft worthy responses to meet the needs of grandparents on providing childcare to grandchildren, employment and preparation for retirement.
