Haidee has been passionate about languages since her undergraduate studies.  She studied Translation, Spanish, and Linguistics at HKU for her BA and MA degrees.  She took leisure time to learn other languages including Japanese and German.  Having experienced learning additional languages in adulthood, Haidee is aware of the learning difficulties of ESL learners particularly in the Hong Kong setting.  Later, she studied for her certificate in TESOL at Trinity College London to obtain more insights to help ESL learners. 

Prior to joining CEAL, Haidee taught Translation Studies at HKU.  She also taught Translation, Linguistics, English for Academic Purposes, and General English at HKU SPACE.  Her main teaching focus at CEAL is Professional Communication in English.  Her research interests are multilingualism, linguistic typology, and psychology of language acquisition.
