Neil has worked in English Language Teaching and Teacher Education for more than 30 years.  He has taught from kindergarten to adults and all ages between and has worked in Egypt, China, Hungary, Hong Kong, and the United Arab Emirates.  He began his career in Cairo where he taught primary English before moving to teaching English as a Second Language in a UK secondary school.  He first worked in Hong Kong in 1996, where he was senior teacher for secondary courses and moved into teacher education when teaching on RSA CELTA/CELTYL and DELTA courses. Neil taught EAP at Hong Kong Polytechnic University prior to  relocating to the United Arab Emirates where he worked in EAP and teacher education.  He was also divisional assessment coordinator, and led undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in teacher education.  At Lingnan University, Neil is primarily engaged in working on quality assurance processes and supporting the English Language Support Service.

 

Neil received the President’s Award for Excellence, Hong Kong Polytechnic University (2003).

 

In his free time, Neil practices karate, enjoys reading and hiking and visiting some of Hong Kong’s restaurants.
