Ms Chu has a son who has been diagnosed with achondroplasia, commonly known as dwarfism. She set up a charitable foundation Little People of Hong Kong in 2013 to serve patients, especially children, with rare skeletal disorders and strives to help them to live an independent and fulfilling life by overcoming challenges associated with their physical disabilities.
