Following the decision of the University to resume face-to-face teaching starting from the Summer term, the University has decided to resume all face-to-face teaching on campus for the academic year 2022-23 unless the COVID pandemic in Hong Kong rebounds.

Students who are currently outside Hong Kong
Students who are currently outside Hong Kong should make plans to prepare for their return to campus before the term starts.  You are advised to prepare your travel plan well in advance, taking into consideration the latest immigration restrictions for entry to Hong Kong imposed by the HKSAR Government, and allow for enough time to undergo the compulsory quarantine, if applicable, before you return to campus.  For updated information about the quarantine requirements, please visit: https://www.coronavirus.gov.hk/eng/inbound-travel.html.

Students who are prohibited from travelling to Hong Kong due to exceptional circumstances such as mandatory lockdown are required to provide supporting documents and seek special approval from the Head of Department/Programme Director to attend classes online.  The exemption may be granted for a period of time or for the entire term depending on individual situations.  Zoom links will ONLY be given to pre-approved students.

All staff and students must be fully vaccinated, comply with the campus entry requirements (https://www.ln.edu.hk/announcement/20220419/update-on-vaccine-pass-implementation-19-april-2022), use the “LeaveHomeSafe” app upon entering the campus, and strictly adhere to the University’s COVID-19 preventive measures.

Lecture recording
The University will request that all face-to-face lectures be recorded and made available online for students to retrieve and revise at their own pace.  Tutorials are not required to be recorded.

Final Examinations
All final examinations to be conducted at the end of Term 1 will adopt the on-campus proctored mode.

Student exchange activities
The University intends to resume both inbound and outbound student exchange activities as far as practical.  As travel restrictions may be changed at short notice, we will work closely with our partner institutions to provide students with timely guidelines and advice.
We will update you if there are any significant announcements to be made.  In the meantime, we wish you all a restful break when it comes.
