Equal Opportunities Awareness Week 2015 (9 - 13 March, 2015)

4-13 March 2015	Exhibition by Nepalese artist Dipendra RAI
Opening 7 March 2015 2:30 – 3:30 pm Library – Foyer	Guest of Honor Mr. Mahesh Prasad Dahal, Consul General of Nepal, and Professor Shalandra Sharma, Acting Vice-President of Lingnan Univerity, will officiate this Ceremony. Mr.Rai's unique artwork is done in ballpen (not oil or water colour). He is famous for his portraiture, but also does Nepalese scenery.
Artist' Sharing 10 March 2015 3:30-5:00pm Library –Foyer ILP-CE units: 1.5	Mr. Rai will share his artistic inspirations, introduce some Nepalese life and culture and his life journey which took him from Nepal to Hong Kong.
9 March 2015 1:30 – 2:30 pm Skylight	EO Awareness Week organized by LU-EOC and LU Gardeners Kick-Off Ceremony Guests of Honor, Dr. York Chow, Chairman of the Equal Opportunities Commission of Hong Kong, and Prof. Leonard Cheng, President of Lingnan University, will officially inaugurate the LU-Equal Opportunity Committee. There will also be a formal launch of the LU-EOC website and an announcement of the winners for the Slogan and Logo Design Competition. Other highlights of this event will include exhibition booths and performances including: Standup comedy by Vivek Mabubhani Singing performance by Wong Ming Yan African drumming performed by representatives of HK Christian Action TAC Funky Dance performed by representatives of OSL, LU students, women and elderly persons in the community

5 March 2015 Opening Ceremony cum Performance 4:00 – 5:00 pm Art Gallery	Partnering with Lingnan University – Visual Studies Department to showcase "Come in please!" – Art Exhibition presented by i-dArt, TWGHs
5-29 March 2015 Exhibition Opening hours: Mon to Fri 12:00 noon – 7:00 pm Sat & Sun 10:00am – 6:00 pm Closed on 23 & 24 Mar 2015 Art Gallery	The Exhibition will feature the works of over 80 artists from visual and performing arts classes in various art forms including paintings, ceramics, Chinese calligraphy, dance, percussions and Saori weaving.
9 March 2015 12:00 -4:30 pm MBG-22	Community Service for Visual Impaired Elderly Persons LU students will assist a group of visual impaired elderly guests at the LU-EOC kick-off Ceremony.
10 March 2015 4:00 – 5:00 pm MBG07 ILP-CE unit: 1	Talk by Mr. Jason Ho Executive committee member, HK Blind Union Topic: Overcome the Barrier of Visual Disability A visually impaired young person, Mr. Ho will share his learning & work experience. Mr. Ho will demonstrate the importance of barrier-free facilities on campus by way of promoting student awareness of equality in communication.
11 Mar 2015 3:00 –4:00 pm MBG07 ILP-CE Unit-1	Talk by Ms. Elaine Tsang Suk-ling Project Manager, Best Buddies Hong Kong, Fu Hong Society Topic: Respect our Special Friends A"HK Best Buddies" social worker, Ms Tsang will highlight some special contributions of intellectually disabled people.
12 Mar 2015 2:30 –4:30 pm MBG-19 ILP-CE Units: 2	Screening of films by deaf filmmakers & Sharing Session Partner organization: Centre for Community Cultural Development with Guest Speaker: Mr. Terry Tsoi 5 short films produced by local and overseas deaf filmmakers will be screened. Following this there will be a sharing session, chaired by one of the filmmakers Mr. Terry Tsoi, who will discuss the things that have inspired him in film.
12 March 2015 3:30 – 6:30 pm MBG-07 ILP-CE Units: 3	Tour: Cultural Tour of Ethnic Minority Neighborhoods Organized by Social Worker of HKSKH Lady MacLehose Centre A guided tour to Kwai Ching area in which many south Asians live to understand and appreciate the culture of ethnic minorities.
13 March 2015 12:30 – 2:00 pm Skylight ILP-CE Units: 1.5	Forum – Dialogue across Boundaries (Closing event) This forum invites speakers to discuss the possibilities of contemporary dialogue of social, political and economic exclusion, polarization and division.
