The domain focuses on whole-person development through students’ residential experience and fosters cultural exchange. Students can develop interpersonal skills, self-governance ability, a sense of community and responsibilities. The Language Enhancement and Internationalisation programme includes activities of the Lingnan Language Enhancement Initiative (L²EI), cultural integration and appreciation, and global perspectives.

*Activities under the Residential Education domain will be mainly provided by Warden Offices for advocating their educational themes as Living Learning Community and supplemented by OSA, CEAL, CLEAC, various university offices and student bodies.

Description:

Participants will quickly go through the business model canvas and be able to apply the tool for their chosen topics in order to identify the community problem and address the pain points of the locals.

Description:

During the activity, the speaker will introduce a card-based game related to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), illustrating examples of SDGs in student hostels and on campus. By playing this card-based game with others, students will be able to acquire knowledge about the SDGs and associated issues. This will also provide an opportunity for them to reflect on their living habits within the residential community.

Description:

In Hong Kong, food waste accounts for around 30% of all municipal solid waste, and a large volume is disposed of in landfill every day. This is directly contributing to climate change. How can we reduce food waste in an organic way on campus? The guest speaker will introduce organic and technological solutions for food waste on campus and at hostels in particular, and lead student group discussions and experiential learning tasks.

2. Factcheck Lab was founded in May 2020 by a group of independent researchers and journalists in Hong Kong. The Chinese Style: Fai Chun Workshop is an engaging activity designed to allow students to expose to traditional Chinese culture, including Chinese calligraphy and Chinese New Year traditions. 3. Enjoy the fun of interacting with the others and co-create different movement since there is no standardized framework.

Description:

Teachers will guide participants to select body movement elements from their daily lives. Through different perspectives and methods, we hope to pique their interests, encourage them to participate proactively, and let them enjoy the pure fun when making body movement.

The course does not teach stretching or dancing skills. Participants can join the class based on their body conditions and abilities on that day, making body movements freely in a stress-free setting to ease their worries and relaxing on that day.
