聚焦职场的研究
在过去十年左右的时间里,亚洲各国一直经历着由新技术和经济力量转移共同带来的根本性改变。
当然,最近还有新冠疫情的影响,新冠疫情除了影响大家的健康,还颠覆了许多企业,破坏了许多年轻人的学习和事业发展计划。
接受正在发生的一切及理解它们对劳动力的影响并不是容易的。为此,岭南大学(岭大)各院系的学者们在自身研究领域外追踪趋势、分析理据和根本源头,并就职场的发展方向和预期演变提出自己的看法。
部分研究项目和论文可以归纳于一个广泛的主题:香港社会背景下的就业、青年转型和福祉。
然而,学者所做的工作也充分考虑到国际和比较的层面,以及亚洲和更远地区的高等教育系统应该如何发展以迎接新的挑战。
在政府的敦促下,大家更加重视、也有更多的学生报读那些与知识型经济紧密相关的项目,而这些项目也着力培育一批更具创业创新精神、可以即时投入职场的毕业生。
这在原则上看起来似乎很好,但至少在短期内,这些举措实际上加剧了毕业生失业或就业不足的问题,而新冠疫情导致招聘工作普遍放缓,使问题变得更加严重。
有分析显示快速增长的热门学科人才供应并不符合实际的市场需求。因此,当大家意识到这个问题时,政策辩论和广泛的学术研究就自然关注到这一现象在社区不同层面所产生的社会和经济后果。
为了作出有意义的贡献,岭大成立了一个研究团队,研究一系列相互关联的问题。包括高等教育的“大众化”和“私有化”、不断变化的社会生产力,以及年轻人从教育过渡到职场的情况。
重要的是,研究还延伸到青年人在动荡和充满压力的新时代中的福祉问题,以及对公共政策的影响。
秉承岭大“研以致用”的理念,每项研究都与联合国17个可持续发展目标(SDG)的其中一个或多个目标相关联,尤其会涉及优质教育;体面工作和经济增长;工业、创新和基础设施;以及良好的健康和福祉。它们的目的是为世界各国提供一个适用于21世纪的明确路线图,并平衡人类的需求和自然环境的保护。
可持续发展目标的其中一个目标是促进伙伴关系,以期更有效地应对区域性和全球问题。为实现这一目标,岭大率先与欧洲和亚洲的伙伴院校建立牢固的研究联系,往后还会有更多的伙伴院校加入。
岭大的研究伙伴院校均享誉国际,包括牛津大学和伦敦大学的教育研究院,还有芬兰图尔库大学的东亚研究中心,以及挪威斯塔万格大学社会科学学院的研究小组。
到目前为止,在亚洲富有声望的合作院校包括北京大学的教育学院和台湾政治大学的教育学院。
这种伙伴关系的直接好处是它们为教授和研究生提供了一个验证理论和交流思想的平台。除此之外,它们还为联合主办国际会议和专题讨论会开拓新机会,并会合作在一些学术界最具权威的期刊上发表观点和研究成果。
事实上,在过去几年,岭大的研究团队一直在同行评议论文、章节和文章方面保持着稳定的产出率,而且每一份著作都为岭大作为亚洲领先的博雅大学这个声誉锦上添花。
岭大文化研究系主任和讲座教授潘毅教授最近发表的三份著作就很好地说明研究的规模和范围。
其中一项研究是关于新中国工人阶级的形成,他们的努力和挣扎对重塑中国和世界各地日后的阶级关系有重大影响。
另一项研究是对香港失业保险进行批判性的政策分析,在这方面,许多人认为香港是一个具有特殊风险的城市。第三项研究是关于中国卡车司机的问题,及其对新移民的挣扎和“基础设施资本主义 ”的出现的影响。
其他学者或单独或与其他研究人员合作探讨了以下的问题:疫情期间在家工作的成效;香港工作的成年人与大湾区的心理距离;人力资源发展计划中学生对就业能力的自我评估;以及在一个富裕的全球城市的个人收入和幸福。
