The Faculty of Social Sciences offers taught postgraduate (MSc/MA) and research postgraduate (MPhil/PhD) programmes across all the major Social Science disciplines.
Research Postgraduate Programmes
The Faculty offers MPhil/PhD Programmes in Economics, Government and International Affairs, Psychology, Sociology and/or Social Policy. The Master of Philosophy (MPhil) Programme in Social Sciences was launched in the year 1995, and the Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) Programme in Social Sciences in 2000-2001. Both MPhil and PhD Programmes require students to engage in-depth study in specific research areas in the Social Sciences.

 | MSc in International Banking and Finance (MIBF) The Department of Economics launched a full-time one-year taught Master of Science in International Banking and Finance (MIBF) Programme in the 2006-07 academic year. Students study on a wide range of practical banking, finance and economics courses in this programme. |
