2021年12月8日

The University is thankful to all staff and students for strictly complying with social distancing in order to keep the community safe and healthy.  As the local epidemic situation has remained stable, the University will continue to adopt face-to-face teaching and learning in Term 2 to provide students with the highest quality academic and residential learning experience.

Face-to-face teaching and learning

Same as Term 1, lectures, tutorials, seminars, laboratory/studio/practicum-based subjects will be conducted face-to-face on campus.  Students will not be offered an alternative to attend classes online unless the pandemic has turned for the worse.

Lecture recording

The University will request that all face-to-face lectures be recorded and made available online for students to retrieve and revise at their own pace.  However, lecture recording is not meant to replace in-person classroom experience.  Tutorials are not required to be recorded.

Final examinations

All final examinations to be conducted at the end of Term 2 will adopt the on-campus proctored mode.

Holiday break

Students who are currently in Hong Kong are strongly advised to avoid non-essential travel outside Hong Kong during the festive breaks.  Those who are planning to leave Hong Kong should remain watchful of the compulsory quarantine and testing requirements on inbound travellers and to allow sufficient time to undergo the mandatory quarantine, if applicable, before returning to campus.  For updated information about the quarantine requirements, please visit https://www.coronavirus.gov.hk/eng/inbound-travel.html.  Any delay while returning to Hong Kong will affect their studies in Term 2.

Student exchange activities

The University has resumed both inbound and outbound student exchange activities as far as practical.  As the global pandemic is still evolving and travel restrictions may be changed at short notice, we would continue to work closely with our partner institutions to provide students with timely guidelines and advice.

Campus entry arrangement from Term 2

To safeguard the wellbeing of the entire University community, all staff and students are required to be fully vaccinated or obtain valid negative COVID-19 test results every seven days to access the campus.  Further details will be provided by the University in due course.

Please stay vigilant and continue to follow the precautionary measures that are in effect while on campus https://www.coronavirus.gov.hk/eng/social_distancing.html
