As a partner of the Millennium Entrepreneurship Programme (MEP) designed to raise secondary school students’ awareness on social issues and entrepreneurship, Lingnan University has been offering full support to participating students throughout the programme.

Apart from receiving mentorship and guidance from members of the LU Jockey Club Gerontechnology and Smart Ageing Project in formulating their business idea and proposals, participants also took part in a number of workshops and guided tours at the LU Jockey Club Gerontech-X Lab where they learned the actual needs of the elderly and social innovation.

Speaking at the prize presentation ceremony held on 30 April 2022 as a judge, LU Vice-President Prof Joshua Mok Ka Ho said he was impressed by the innovative ideas. He encouraged student leaders to always take care of the society and the needy, and to further enhance the sustainability of their business plans.

Organised by Rotary Club of Harmony and Prosperity Hong Kong and Wofoo Social Enterprises, MEP aims to enhance students’ understanding of key social issues and corporate social responsibility through business proposal writing. The four topics of this year’s MEP were Digital Transformation, Gerontech, Health and Fitness, and Smart Learning.
