Bulk Mail Management System

Bulk Mail Management System is a web application to support the mass email dissemination service as well as to comply with the Unsolicited Electronic Messages Ordinance. The system allows you to create bulk mail through a standard web interface at anytime & anywhere with self-assigned release schedule through a web browser.

Service Provided

There are two types of bulk mails receiving from the Bulk Mail Management System in Lingnan, namely mandatory and commercial.

  • The mandatory type bulk mails are always sent to the recipients. The recipients could not unsubscribe those emails and must receive them.
  • On the other hand, for the commercial type bulk mails, the recipients have an option not to receive them by unsubscribing them.

How to Unsubscribe and Resubscribe

Users can unsubscribe any commercial type bulk mails via the “unsubscribe” link inside each of those bulk mails. Once unsubscribed, users will not receive them any more and need to go to “Daily Notices” in MyLingnan Portal in order to read them. In case users want to resubscribe (or called opt in) again, they need to send an email to that particular email address stating that they want to opt in the commercial type bulk mails sent from that email address.

Unsubscribe

Finally, a very important reminder, each department may have several departmental email addresses sending bulk mails. Users need to unsubscribe/resubscribe commercial type bulk mails from each of those email addresses.
